SkarrBus
Catch us if you can!Fantastic Recipe Site
I found a great site for camping recipes, sorted by things like breakfast, campfire, foil pouch, etc. Enjoy!
She’ll be coming round the corner when she comes…..
Yep. If Todd has some free time today I’m going to beg that we bring Skarrbus home. I know. We’re not going anywhere for a month at least. I want to clean and organize and putz around in there.
I’m trying to find some kind of map that I can post here, I don’t really know how to do it. Trips this year that are already solid are a trip to Arkansas in May, and all.the.way. to Vegas in July/August. We will be returning to the UP, likely in June. I’d like to get to the lower MI and OH areas to visit some friends, I’m trying to figure out when!
I’m just glad to have something to post here again!
Portage

Wild cows were found grazing within arms reach!

A little impatient for the smores.

With his woobie, precious the portable dvd player.

I like to poke at the fire. Mind you, it was 95 degrees with 85% humidity and there just may have been a few beers involved, before you judge my appearance.

Yummy grills….

We take water safety very seriously.

I am loving the pools.

You give me my money….

Is there a better sight in the whole world?
Heading out
Sad Skarrbus News
We can’t take our trip out East. Crunching numbers and dealing with current issues in the house…we just can’t. Our next trip will be up north, just a short little thing that will only use a little gas.
Camping defined, Skarr style
We all have our own ways of doing things. We’ve been camping for a while and for us it comes down to a very few things that we *have* to do.

There must be roasted corn.

Somewhere to hike with friends.

Fire.

Friends, oh and fire.
Also included, a good place to nap -

Beer optional LOL.
Things to research *after* your trip.
I would not have gone had I researched this before. I did though, manage to find a picture of the type of spider that was harassing Lisa and I at the bathroom. And on her face.

I know. You think it’s harmless looking. I think it will crawl in my ear and take up residence in my brain.
Some things that we learned on the road.
1. The “master bedroom” can sleep Todd and I, and the three youngest of the children, even when it’s really hot and humid.
2. We should not drive more than 3 hours with the children.
3. Having the bus bathroom in working order during a trip ensure the massive thirst of said children, who will then require hourly pee trips.
4. Our shower, while very small, is also very nice, containing enough water for multiple hot showers!
5. They have sites for RVs called “pull throughs” and they are fabulous for one night stays.
6. It is interesting to talk to other RVers.
7. I still want the screened in attachment for the awning. I think it will improve the quality of camping a touch…even though it’s already good. We won’t have to be so strict about the door.
8. Bring latex gloves.
9. Bring purell.
10. More small fans would be beneficial.
11. A safety rail for the bed would not be a bad thing.
Did you see the banner?
That’s where we stayed last weekend in Arkansas. It was gorgeous…that was right in front of SkarrBus. That light blue? Water.
